Recent Prize for MSci Student
Sean Springer was awarded the William Blair
Morton Prize in Applied Mathematics
in July 2006 for his MSci project in Modelling Avascular Tumour
Growth to Improve
Cancer Simulation and Treatment. This prize was founded in 1945 to
commemorate
William Blair Morton, Professor of Physics in Queen's College and The
Queen's
University of Belfast from 1897 to 1933. It is awarded to students who have
distinguished themselves in the honours course in applied mathematics,
particularly
in their essay work.
