tt-geometry for representations of finite general linear groups

Abstract:

The finite general linear groups have long been studied in many areas of mathematics. In the fifties, Green understood their representation theory using character theory, and in recent years, mathematicians have been studying its asymptotic behaviour via representation stability techniques. In this talk, I will gently introduce how one can study their representation theory via tensor triangulated geometry. Depending on time I will show how to apply this to equivariant homotopy theory.
