The conference will take place on June 9, 2016 in the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast. The focus of the event is to strengthen links between secondary and tertiary level mathematics education providers, by offering a rich learning environment for peer networking among secondary school teachers, university academics and industry. In the meeting this year the theme will be problem solving in the new A-level syllabus and there will be opportunities to explore a wide range of practices that support good teaching and learning in post-primary schools. There will a talk from a representative of the Underground Mathematics scheme, which is run out of the University of Cambridge. These talks will hopefully provide the teachers in attendance with new ways of approaching the A-level and GCSE mathematics syllabuses so as to enhance the learning experience of their pupils.
