Compendium on the quantum probing of Ohmic environments

We present recent results on the quantum estimation of parameters characterizing structured Ohmic environments, by means of probing with both continuous- and discrete-variables quantum systems. In particular, we investigate the optimal strategies to estimate the cutoff frequency and the temperature of Ohmic environments, through quantum probing with Gaussian states and qubit states.
We are a Research Cluster of the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland. Our research interests are focused primarily on computational and theoretical physics.
