The classical problem of uniform distribution theory discusses how one distributes N points in a uniform manner. Diaphony is a notion which can quantify how well these points are distributed.
After an introduction to uniform distribution theory, I will show improvement of the 1986 lower bound results of P. Proinov for the diaphony. Then, move to form new lower bound results for another notion of irregularity of distribution, the dyadic diaphony.
